I read that people are selling old jewelry that is made of precious metals, like gold and silver and receiving good money for them. Every jewelry store in town has a sign in their window about how they are currently buying gold and silver. Gold prices are really high and I think that they take the old gold, melt it down, and make new pieces out of it.

Selling jewelry to stores is something that I never knew you could do. I always thought that you had to take it to a pawn shop or something. That might have been when the store would have had to resell the item that you sold to them but now, they pass it on to other people who handle the melting and restricting of it and probably make double of what they paid the person who was originally selling jewelry to them.

I asked a friend of mine who used to be in the jewelry business if selling old jewelry to stores, just to have them scrap it out is really worth it. He informed me that with gold prices the way that they were, it was defiantly a good time to dump everything that you own that is gold that you do not use, or wear.
