The overseas property news that was in all the latest real estate magazines and newspapers was that prices were so low that you would be crazy not to invest in a second or third home abroad. My parents had been thinking of investing in a retirement home for when they retire in about ten years. They thought that they could use it as a vacation home in the mean time.

My mother had always stayed on top of property for sale in Greece, her native country. My father had always said that he did not want to move there, because the prices were much too high. When my mother emailed a real estate company in Greece and asked to have some information of property for sale in Greece, she knew that she was probably doing it for nothing.

The overseas property news was right, that had been in the papers and magazines. My parents found a home in Greece that was half the cost that it was about two years ago. They would be able to retire in Greece and use the home as a vacation home until that time came.

Our entire family is going to head over to see the property for sale in Greece, when my parents close on their new house. You never know, maybe we can all buy a vacation/retirement home for ourselves.
